As much as I would love to keep bottom fishing for another week, I think the weather the past few days may have been the swan song for the inshore Sea Bass.
We will be bringing the boat back late Tuesday, getting ready on Wednesday to start Striped Bass fishing on Thursday. Several area's of fish been showing life just before the storm along with a nice amount of bait in the area's. Hopefully the past several days of Snot got those babies moving!!
Will be fishing with Jigs & Shads in the back bay, ocean, wherever we have to go to get it done.
Don't forget our early Sailing time is 7:00AM sharp.
Fare is $90, Rod Rentals $20. Open Boat, No Reservations. Capt. Ron
Nice all day bite with the Sea Bass & Medium size porgies.
Art from Lake Hopacong took the pool with a beauty Sea Bass at 3 lbs.
We were planning on getting Saturday in, unfortunately it looks like the weather is going to crap earlier than expected. With the heavy winds predicted I will be moving the boat out of the Harbor for the next few days. Maybe some good will come out of it and the Bass will start moving locally.
I'll update in a couple days.
Thanks for checking in,
Capt. Ron
Looks like Friday & Saturday will be the only trips we will be able to fish.
Another pretty good NE'ster coming in late Saturday into Monday-Tuesday from the look of it.
Tuesday was our last trip out, we slugged away once again on Sea Bass & Porgies. A few nice jumbos in the mix but they are getting thin, i'm sure the upcoming weather isn't going to help. If anything it may get the Striped bass moving, one can only hope!! See you in the AM.
7:30-2:30pm. Open Boat, No Reservations. Fare is $90, Rod Rental $20. Bottom Fishing
See you in the AM, Capt. Ron
Slugged away on the first drop in the AM with Porgies and Sea Bass, way too many pins to get a keeper so we ended up bouncing around a bunch of area's, slugging away.
Some did good, some not so good as the bite was certainly off. Shaping up in the AM, will see what happens with the BS weather once again.
Looks like they are already talking about crap weather from Sunday on, it's only Tuesday for Christ's sake. Give us a break just once!!
7:30-2:30pm. Open Boat, No Reservations. Fare is $90, Rod Rental $20.
See you in the AM, Capt. Ron
Back out for another beautiful day of bottom fishing.
First drop we were back on the Jumbo Porgies, that only lasted a little while as we had no current. Fished a couple drops and found life pretty much everywhere we stopped, some drops better than others.
Last drop of the day was the best with drop & reel fishing on both Sea Bass & Porgies.
Weather looks good for the rest of the week, a little NE towards the end but we are anchoring up so we should be fine. Back at it in the AM, sailing everyday.
